“Rightside Up”

“Rightside Up”

[builder_content post_id=”18979″]After Jesus rose from the dead, he appeared to his disciples.  He let them know, “I’ve turned this upside down world right side up and now I’m sending you to do the same.”

He let them know, “I’ve turned this upside down world right side up and now I’m sending you to do the same.”

Jesus did not destroy the world he entered.  Rather, he introduced a new kind of world.  One that’s meant to run side-by-side this broken one, turning upside down the old orders of fear, injustice, hatred, and greed.  This new kind of world – which Jesus called “the Kingdom fo God” is destined to increase – and the old world decrease – as his followers learn to inhabit his new way of life, a right side up way of living.

Two thousand years later, the world is very different.  That may be difficult to see.  There’s so much of that old world left.  Perhaps even in you.

Maybe for all the pages you’ve turned in your life,
there’s still a lingering…
skepticism,
unforgiveness… or shame,
failure,
jealousy.

What if those scripts could be flipped once and for all?

Throughout this final series in our study of John’s Gospel, as we see how John brings his story to the end, we’ll see how Jesus brought all of humanity into a new beginning.

We’ll discover – for ourselves – a new way to believe, to forgive, to succeed, to make a difference in the world.
